Safety Comes From ... Pretty Skirts, Tall Boots and Good Friends.
A downloadable scrap paper poetry set
I have fought myself for so long on what to write here and how best to sell this all to you,- I have now decided that not only is that boring, its also not what I want to remember doing when I think back to making this.
I made this for Trans Joy Jam afterall, and most importantly I made this for me. I put all of this together, these seven poems and the art that comes with them, to show myself that no matter how awful things have been I have always found moments of euphoria, joy, love, and safety;- and I've always found a way to create things in those moments.
So please,- enjoy some of the sillest and most tender moments of gender joy I've collected along the way. Supported throughout by the lovely ms paint doodles of my close friend Teddy (@teddythetv) and as many of Canva's free scrap paper assests as I could get my hands on.
Alongside the poetry itself, the zip folder you'll be getting from this collection contains a content description & warnings document as well as a breathtaking piece of digital art made by my good friend Tamsin (@perilune) taking inspiration from many of the different parts of these poems.
In time, I also plan to add spoken song versions of each of these seven poems similarly to the work I did on Hack At, Play With & Shape earlier this year.
Before you go about your day, I'd love to tell you a little more about Trans Joy Jam. It's another multi-media, multi-medium jam ran by Sasha "stargazersasha" Winter like the amazing Reliquary Street Weekly Jams and the beautifully powerful Trans Fucking Rage Jam. The latter of which I am proud to have also been apart of. The work people made for all of these jams has honestly been some of the most powerful art i've ever seen and I cannot recommend enough just clinking on one of those three links and clicking around.
If you're looking for my submission, you can find it here- it's a little fleshier than this but still holds a tenderness I'm really proud of, if that interests you I'd love for you to check it out!
Lastly, if you've taken the time to read this page, I want to say appreciate it - I know how long this is but I faffed around with it a whole lot and I am glad it didn't go to waste. Thank you for that and thank you for taking time to look at my work, I hope you read and enjoy,- if you do come talk to me on Twitter @theirATLAS I'd love to hear from you, about my work, about your work, anything really, come say hi!

COMMUNITY COPIES!
I am absolutely against the concept of anyone spending money on this project unless they are stable enough to spare it without worry. This is a project made by a trans anarchist for trans anarchists.
We are poor but we still need art.
I know how long I have spent debating with myself about whether a Community Copy is for me - and let me tell you, as the creator of this work and as a struggling trans person myself - this was always for you.
My work is meant to be enjoyed without worry.
Access as you wish.
More community copies will come with each purchase,
More still with each purchase at or above the suggested amount! <3
